Winter is waning and spring is on the way. Are you ready for something a little different to kick off the change in seasons? If you answered yes to that question, make sure you have a reserved spot at the table on Friday night, March 22, when the Atlantic City Country Club presents “Beers, Brews & Birdies,” a very special night of beer tasting and gourmet dining.
Did you know that the golf term “birdie” for a 1-under par score was coined right here at the Atlantic City Country Club? In fact, right on the 12th hole. In 1903, the word “bird” was used for “cool” or outstanding. When a golfer landed a shot right by the hole, his fellow golfers declared it to be a “bird of a shot.” That “bird of a shot” became a “birdie” and the term quickly spread to golf courses across the country.
And now you can revel in the history and warm, relaxing atmosphere of a golf club that’s been in continual operation since 1897. Yes, that's 1897, not 1997. You get all the historical ambiance, great food prepared by Executive Chef Ed Daggers and his superb kitchen staff, and masterful beer pairings, all for only $49 per person. Here’s what you’ll enjoy.
