December 31, 2012 - January 6, 2013: Mercury moved from argumentative Sagittarius into ambitious "let's get it done" Capricorn on December 31 and just in the nick of time a deal was struck to keep the country from tumbling off the Fiscal Cliff. But as we've heard its far from over. Thankfully, Mercury's entrance into Capricorn marks the beginning of a three week period when minds are ready to get down to business and focus on practical matters.
This energy will build until Thursday, January 3, 2013, when Mercury in Capricorn will seriously begin to challenge the revolutionary forces of Uranus in Aries. Though we are likely to experience this in the continued haggling in Washington, each of us needs to be careful with our words because it will be easy to create contentious conversations in our personal lives also.
Additionally, with the Moon Void of Course in Virgo almost all day on January 3, it would be best if the world just took a break and held its tongue. However, that might be difficult and frustrating, because when Mercury and Uranus interact we all have a tendency to speak without thought or consideration. My advice for this day is to watch your words, be kind and stick to your normal routine.
Take a deep breath and wait to speak until late Thursday when the Moon will move from often nit picky and critical Virgo into "let's make nice" Libra. With the Moon in Libra making compromises, negotiating, practicing graciousness and diplomacy will be much easier.
The Moon will be in Libra until Sunday Morning (January 6) when Mercury joins forces with Pluto in Capricorn and harmonizes with Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn. So, after the flare-ups perhaps we can expect some deeply though out and responsible decisions related to the profound transformations that need to be made. Additionally, Mars in Aquarius trine Jupiter in Gemini speaks of optimism, enthusiasm and expansion. There could be some decisive action now, both personally and collectively, as positive attitudes create winning situations.
All in all this will be a mentally charged few days filled with hope that common ground can be found.
