The Artist leads the 2012 Golden Globes

The Artist took home three awards at last night's Golden Globes, including Best Motion Picture Comedy or Musical, while The Descendants took home the awards for Best Motion Picture Drama and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for George Clooney. Martin Scorsese received Best Director for the 3D film Hugo.
 
The Iron Lady's Meryl Streep and My Week With Marilyn's Michelle Williams picked up lead actress awards, while Octavia Spencer received the supporting actress award for her performance in The Help. Jean Dujardin was awarded Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy or Drama for The Artist, and Christopher's Plummer's performance in Beginners earned him the supporting actor award.

Veteran actor Morgan Freeman was honored with the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is given to individuals who have made "outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment."
