On last night's edition of "The Artie Lange Show" on the Audience Network, Artie welcomed "Deadliest Catch" captain of the F/V Time Bandit, Johnathan Hillstrand. While the series will not air until mid-April, the Discovery Channel has been doing promos to get fans excited for the upcoming season.
Johnathan got to play ping pong against one of the twins during the intermission. He also posed in the photo booth while Marie waited for the pictures to print. John was actually in New York to have surgery. When he was bull riding at a dude ranch after the season, he broke his ribs. From not healing properly, the ribs have to be re-broken and reset.
Johnathan joined Artie and his co-host former NFL player, John Ritchie. Artie is a fan of "Deadliest Catch." Johnathan told Artie and John that two men lost their legs on the upcoming season. John and his brothers got tired of working for other boats and bought their own boat. Johnathan said he was actually scared a few times this season. Within two days, of the upcoming season, the two guys lost their legs. He did not say what boat they were on, but it had to be horrible. They spoke about Captain Phil Harris, and how they used to drink a bottle of booze and smoke packs of cigarettes together. Since Phil died, Johnathan has laid off the booze. He mentioned how he loves Phil's sons, but one needs a good swift kick. Fans know that it Jake Harris, who had been in rehab when his father died. One of the promos for the new season alludes to Josh being the youngest captain. Time will tell if he is the skipper of the "Cornelia Marie."
Good luck to the crab fishermen on the upcoming season, we want you back safely from both king crab and opilio seasons.
