In this competitive job market of ours, standing out to potential employers is more important than ever. With several candidates usually vying for the same position it's easy to get overlooked for those more qualified. So is there any hope for the rest of us? The answer is yes and it's in this infographic.
The best thing you can do before stepping into an interview is to make yourself familiar with the company. Do your research. Check out their website and articles from the news. If they've got it, teach yourself about their company culture and ask yourself why you want to work there. Employers want dedicated employees, not new-graduates trying to get a head start paying off student loans.
When you're actually in the interview keep calm and be ready to answer their questions simply and clearly. Generally employers aren't interested in listening to you talk in circles about your credentials, so keep it short, sweet and to the point.
When the interview is said and done send a thank you letter. Let them know you are grateful for their time and reiterate (tactfully) why you are a good fit for their company.
