Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD. (Proverbs 18:22 KJV)

The List  by Sherry Lewis is a great read for those women who are waiting to be "found" by Mr. Right. It is the story of four friends who decide to "step it up" in their game plan to find the right guy. The beautiful thing about this book is the author's ability to "keep it real" and the same time encourage readers to search their own hearts about what qualifies a man to be Boaz. (read the book of Ruth from the Old Testament).  It also exposes the fallibilty of mankind and how easy it is to be decieved not just by men but by our own hearts in the process of  trying to find love and maintain a holy lifestyle (abstinence).

The story begins with the birthday of main character Michelle who is in semi-mourning over a recent divorce and battling PMS at the time (LOL). While celebrating at her friend's house (who just happens to be a therapist), Michelle is encouraged to make a list of qualities she wants in whomever she wants to find her and things go forward from there. The usual bad dating scenarios show up (everything from a guy whose car won't start at the end of the date to a man who has herpes), but the humour  Ms. Lewis displays in her writing  will have readers in stitches.

This book is those who truly believe that a "merry doeth good like a medicine" (Proverbs 17:22a). It is very light hearted in its approach and when Michelle does "get found" you're ready to cheer for her. There is also a Q&A at the end for those who want to convert this into a Bible Study.
