Formerly the Arizona Survivalist Show, the Arizona Survivalist / Prepper Expo is coming back for its second year on March 30th, 2012 at the Glendale Civic Center.
I was fortunate enough to attend the inaugural affair last year, and what could have easily been a hackneyed gathering of Popyclypse bloggers turned out to be an exciting and informative representation of various TEOTWAWKI scenarios. Though cries of our impending zombie doom went noticeably unsung.
This year's event promises a robust mix of speakers, vendors and training seminars, and (thankfully) a larger venue in Glendale. Expect a large assortment of prepper junk and consumer wares, but also some real additions to your survival skills and knowledge banks thanks to a number of guest speakers and demonstrations.
The endless spectrum of survival paranoiacs will be sure to find something of interest at the expo. Disaster forecasters of economic, environmental, governmental, supernatural and extraterrestrial nature can all find someone to argue with, while simultaneously buying the latest solar charger, learning about time-tested canning techniques, or getting in some CQC training.
So if you worry that zombies are coming for your brains (they are), or fret a less likely end brought by financial collapse or climate change, come out on 3/30/12 in support of Arizona's survivor cooperative, and help spread awareness that we're all indisputably screwed.
