“It’s so good to see you!” “How was your week at work?” “Oh, God will bless you with that job you always wanted!” “How are you?”
Do you really care?! Or “am I just another notch on your bible belt?”
In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a homeless man walks into a church. Covered in blankets and with their head hung low, the congregation is alerted by his presence because of his dreary looking clothes, and slow movement.
People start whispering, and soon the body of the church has been silenced and distracted from song time (praise and worship). The shaggy looking man turns into a local pew without looking up and kind of forces himself between two families. Both families back away from the homeless man and allow them room to sit, and even more room if any of his friends decided to show.
The Church service continues through the offering time uninterupted. The pastor of the church was introduced and as the people waited for him to approach the platform, the homeless man slowly stood up and walked up to the podium.
The people gasped as what they were seeing was actually happening.
“The homeless man is going to kill us all!”
Slowly the man unveiled his face and revealed that he was the pastor.
In his lesson he chided his faithful followers for their criticalness and uppity ways. Neither of which glorified God.
These members and members of Churches throughout the world carry the same mindset of being a "better person" then their neighbor or fellow brother or sister.
With a self projected image so caught up in the clouds and no love, this can only be described as an angel of light.
Even Satan comes as an Angel of Light 2 Corinthians 11:14
If Satan can show up as an Angel of Light so too can his followers-his followers don’t always wear black, carry pitch forks, or dabble in worldliness. His followers are those who present themselves as followers of Christ but are as ravenous as Judas the betrayer of Jesus.
They condemn what they don’t understand, and with false admiration cancel their disgust for any outsiders that don’t follow their ways or the pattern prescribed by another. They accuse their brothers and sisters of wrong doing, and judge the world as if they were God. They condemn what they don't allow and manipulate by adding that "Jesus doesn't either."
For Christ Jesus did not come into the world to condemn it but to save it, but Satan, the accuser of every person on the face of the earth does just that day and night (Revelation 12:10 NRSV).
The power of accusation
To accuse, is to continually bind someon to what they once were. It stabilizes and immobilizes one from stepping out of their past, or the past of their dad or mom, and dictates their future. An accusation keeps a person on trial for the rest of their lives. That why forgiveness is truly a power that exceeds the mind and elevates the heart.
A living example
Today in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, a woman walked to her door to get her mail. “When I picked it up" she said to the reporter, "and saw 'Klan' written on it I was like ‘Oh, my goodness.”
The KKK is recruiting
A flyer found on many doors in Okfuskee Oklahoma and surrounding small counties had this written on it,
“Twenty reasons why you (if qualified) should join aid and support the United White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.”
Many of the people were offended, yet as seen here, the intentions of the Klansman was not to offend.
Main belief of the KKK
They believe they are true Christians; and as such, they believe that whites are the Supreme Being created by God to establish rulership on earth. Discover more here.
The shocking truth
The Ku’s have been around for centuries and even are still around today. But they hide in mask that are neither ghost patched uniforms or their grandmothers moth ate sheets. These men and woman are judges, lawyers, doctors, construction workers, and fast food employees.
If Christianity is their claim to fame, why so hateful? Is not Christianity about loving ones neighbor no matter what their color, culture, ethnicity, faith, smell, clothes, or age? When pure love is displayed, there is no need to place such demands on a person. They will want to change so that they may continue in that love.
Conclusion
Jesus turns to those who thought they were his followers and says, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
