'The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes' coming to theaters in January 2014

Horror movie fans are in for a treat. ‘The Amityville Horror’ sequel is coming out in January of 2014. ‘The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes’ was moved from the original January 27, 2012 release date.

The plot? Dread Central states:

“The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes” showcases events after the time of the original The Amityville Horror book and movie through found footage dating back to 1976. An ambitious female television news intern, on the verge of breaking the most famous haunted house case in the world, leads a team of journalists, clergymen and paranormal researchers into an investigation of the bizarre events that will come to be known as The Amityville Horror. Only to unwittingly open a door to the unreal that she may never be able to close.

Since the 2005 remake with Ryan Reynolds and Chloe Moretz, there have been discussions of several Amityville projects. One was set to be another remake and the second was the sequel, “The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes.” The reboot was shunned and the sequel won. However, since being taken off the original release date, let’s just hope the film comes out during January 2014 and isn’t moved further out again.

Watch for “The Amityville Horror: The Lost Tapes” in theaters in January 2014. If further news on this film is released, this will be updated.
