The Ames Winter Classic is January 19 at the Maintenance Shop (Photos)

The Maintenance Shop (2229 Lincoln Way) on the Iowa State University campus in Ames will host the Ames Winter Classic on Saturday, January 19. The free concert will feature performances by Mumford's, Surgery, Peace Love & Stuff, and Rebel Creek. Doors at the Maintenance Shop will open at 7:30 p.m., and the music will start at 8 p.m. The concert is open to all ages.

Headliners Mumford's describes themselves as a "wild freak-folk storyteller dance band with a horn section". The Ames band started as a solo project that expanded into the musical juggernaut it is today, listing as many as 11 members on their Facebook page at times. Mumford's have said that they will be debuting some new music at this year's Classic, as well as bringing a few surprise guests on to the stage with them.

Surgery is an alternative dance band from Fairfield, Iowa. The band is using this year's Ames Winter Classic as an Album Release Party. Check out the nearby video for a preview.

Peace Love & Stuff is a rockabilly band out of Des Moines founded in 2009. The band has performed all over the Midwest, even opening for the "Queen of Rockabilly" Wanda Jackson. PLS recently released their self-titled debut EP.

Rebel Creek is a rock band currently based out of Ames that consists of four ISU students. The band has been featured at Little Big Fest, the Des Moines Arts Festival and 80/35 and has grown a huge following in Central Iowa.
