'The Americans' photos and spoilers: First look at new spy series (Photos)

"The Americans" will premiere on Channel 27 in Tempe later this month, and now those waiting for the spy drama are getting a look at the series. On Thursday, Jan. 3, Spoiler TV shared the photos released for the series premiere. Cast photos have also been released. Check out the photos here.

FX is tackling the spy game. This new series will star Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys. Russell is best known for her television work in "Felicity" from The WB, and Rhys starred on "Brothers and Sisters" on ABC. Huffington Post TV shared the following details for the episode:

"'The Americans' follows two married KGB spies posing as Americans in the suburbs of Washington, DC. Matthew Rhys and Russell star as Philip and Elizabeth Jennings, the married spies and parents of two. Things get more complicated when Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an FBI agent, moves in next door."

This series was created by Joe Weisberg. He will co-executive produce the series with Joel Fields and Graham Yost. This series will take over the time slot that is currently held by "American Horror Story" on Wednesday.

This series is generating buzz on social media. One person said the following on Twitter recently:

Best thing about #TheAmericans: makes you root for the Russians in this cold war drama. Rhys and Russell are excellently paired. Intriguing.

"The Americans" will premiere on Channel 27 in Tempe on Jan. 30.
