Season 3 of the The American Bible Challenge returned on the Game Show Network (GSN) on Thursday night with two back-to-back episodes. The show's host is Jeff Foxworthy, and Kirk Franklin is the musical co-host. The first episode began at 8 p.m. with three new teams. The first team consisted of two women and one man from Charlotte, North Carolina. Since they love playing scramble and other word games, they are named The Word with Friends. The second team was Prayer Patrol consisting of three policemen. The third team was Rhymz with Grace, a singing group of three young men from Mobile, Alabama.
All three teams were good; however, Prayer Patrol came in third place and did not make it to the final round. They got to take home $2,500 for their charity. Coming in second place was The Word with Friends who received $5,000 for their charity. The first place winner for this new season was the singing group, Rhymz with Grace who won $20,000 for their charity and will return later in the season to compete for $100,000.
The second episode of Season 3 that started at 9 p.m. had three new teams and more new games. The first team was the Devoted Divas consisting of three women from Akron, Ohio. The second team was the Sons of Thunder, consisting of three Catholic seminarians from Minnesota. The third team consisted of three Mormon wives from Utah. They called themselves the Three Wise Women.
Coming in third place were the Three Wise Woman who did not make it to the final round, but they won $2,500 for their charity. One would think the Catholic seminarians would win, but they came in second place and took home $5,000 for their charity. The first place winners for this new season were the Devoted Divas who won $20,000 for their charity and will return later in the season to compete for $100,000.
