Ever been stuck between doing what you love and helping someone out? Ever felt like the world was crashing down around you? That’s the very feeling of Margaret (April Davis) had trying to raise a son, David (Trey G. Riley), who is wanting to branch out to try his own thing now and her returning now ill husband, Luke (Andrew Coleman), wants her help in his final days - all while managing the church that’s she’s the pastor in ‘The Amen Corner’.
I had the privilege of sitting in on a closed rehearsal as NCAT Director/Professor Miller Lucky walked through the play while consulting with the Stage Manager Jerron Johnson and Assistant Stage Manager Joseph Johnson. Sister Boxer (Danielle Smart), Brother Boxer (Lonnell Butler), and Sister Moore (Ayejah Powell) have their work cut out as they want to uphold the status of the church by fighting to get Margaret out.
You’ll want to see these student actors as the show opens TONIGHT.
