'The Amazing Spider-Man 2's' director Marc Webb discusses significant spoiler

According to Comic Book Movie on Sunday, Marc Webb, who is the director of next month's "The Amazing Spider-Man 2", talked about a significant scene in the final act of the film. He had wanted to to portray Gwen Stacy's fate as something people could relate to in real life when it comes to suffering certain tragedies. The idea of creating realism that comic book movies super heroes suffer hardships is something that audiences can relate to.

As most Marvel fans are aware of, the comic book version of the film portrayed Peter Parker's girlfriend died due to a rescue attempt made by him as she was falling to her death. His web had saved her, but the impact of the web stopping her from hitting the ground inadvertently snapped her neck, killing her instantly. Webb mentioned that "What happened with Gwen, happens in the clock tower", so that pretty much gives the audience the idea of the fate of Spider-Man's true love.

Webb discussed that her fate in the comic book would likely be mapped out in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" as well during the final act at the clock tower. Some may have seen in the trailer that Parker saved her from the brink of death by positioning himself in such a fashion to take the impact from hitting the glass, but did appear Stacy was saved at that point.

Of course, it's been a rather common theme to dramatize what was once campy/cheesy films. For instance at WonderCon, director Gareth Edwards of the upcoming "Godzilla" film emphasized in the trailer how the the scenes from the film depict the characters handling the situation on a more personal level. Bryan Cranston seems to demonstrate such a great performance allowing it to be rather engaging to movie goers.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" opens in theaters across the United States on May 2.
