The Amazing Race is set for its 22nd trek around the globe, and this time two roller derby girls - Mona Egender and Beth Bandimere from the Rocky Mountain Rollergirls will compete against ten other teams all for the one million dollar prize.
In the world of roller derby we are accustomed to knowing the ladies by their fun and sometimes R-rated derby names, but for Triple Shot Misto and Fiona Grapple they will be introduced to America by the names on their drivers license's and their common bond as 'Roller derby moms.'
In the show video released by CBS Bandimere says, "we each have three children, so we're sort of not your traditional roller-derby girls. I'm sure they were looking for tatted-up, pierced... and they got us."
Egender and Bandimere will travel through five continents and nine countries facing danger and uncertainty, more-so than than the new WFTDA rule-set.
This season of The Amazing Race will introduce a new and interesting twist on the Express Pass. The Express Pass allows a team to skip a task of their choosing during the race. The first team of Racers to check into the first pit stop will earn two Express Passes, one to keep for themselves and one they must give to another team by the end of the fourth leg.
The Amazing Race premieres Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8/7c on CBS.
