‘The Amazing Race’ reclaims its title at the Emmy Awards

The Amazing Race was a big winner at the 2011 Emmy Awards. Not only did the reality competition show reclaim its Emmy title from Top Chef, but it also remains only one of two shows to ever win the award.

“Outstanding Reality-Competition Program” first became its own category at the Emmy Awards in 2003. The Amazing Race took home the Emmy for seven consecutive years (2003-2009). Last year, Top Chef won the Emmy, beating out The Amazing Race for the first time. However, its fall from the top was very short-lived. This year, The Amazing Race won the Emmy for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, its eighth Emmy win in this category.
