This fall has the 23rd running of “The Amazing Race” and it looks like it will be a good season. CBS has just announced the full cast on Aug. 28 and there are some interesting couples to check out this time around. There are 11 new teams that will race through four continents, including nine countries, to get to the finish line to win a million dollars.
Who will be this fall’s new couples? Look for best buds Tim Wiyninger and Danny Merkey, as well as married couple Nicole and Travis Jasper, who are both ER doctors. It might be a good thing to have physicians in their midst in case of any emergencies along the way.
Then there are two childhood pals that look like they have just come straight from “Duck Dynasty,” Brandon Squyres and Adam Switzer. Look for a couple of NHL ice dancers for the LA Kings, Ally Mello and Ashley Covert, to spice things up.
The father/daughter team of Hoskote Venkatesh and Naina Venkatesh, and dating couple Jason Case and Amy Diaz, will also be racing around the world. Added to the mix are exes Timothy Sweeney and Marie "Reebs" Mazzocchi, and cousins Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran.
To make it a little sports related, they threw in a couple of baseball wives, Nicky Getz and Kim DeJesus, and a duo of NFL vets and now sports analysts, Chester Pitts II and Ephraim Salaam.
Lastly, theatre performers Rowan Joseph and Shane Partlow, who are known as the ‘Queens of Bingo,’ will be competing against the other teams as well.
Look for the 'Double Express Pass' twist to come back, which means that the team that wins the first leg of the race will be able to keep one pass and a second one to give to another team of their choice by the fifth leg of the race.
“The Amazing Race” will premiere on Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
What do you think of this new cast?
