"The Amazing Race" Mika and Canaan eliminated 'They couldn't do it for the suburbs!'
On the latest episode of “The Amazing Race” Mika and Canaan had to face one of Mika’s biggest fears, they ‘couldn’t do it for the suburbs’ and were eliminated in Dubai.
“The Amazing Race” began with Cheyne and Megan leaving first having to choose from seven briefcases with a clue leading them to the Dubai Creek Yacht Club.
Cheyne and Megan made it look seemingly very easy as Cheyne paddled out to a yacht and received a watch with the time stuck on 8:35, which was the three digit combination to the briefcase, giving them their next clue to Abra Station.
All of the other “Amazing Race” teams seemingly breezed through the first task except for Flight Time and Big Easy, who at first were taken by their taxi driver to the incorrect place and then could not figure out that the time on the watch was the combination to the briefcase, which quickly put them in last place.
In the detour "The Amazing Race” teams had to choose between ‘Gold’ or ‘Glass,’ in “Gold’ the teams had to weight out $500,000 in gold according to the most current exchange rate, however the exchange rate changed every few minutes.
In ‘Glass’ “The Amazing Race” teams had to put together 12 hookahs, the hookahs were in a huge crate filled with hay in hundreds of pieces.
Megan and Cheyne were the first to arrive and chose the ‘Glass’ detour, Megan became very frustrated, but in the end the pair finished the detour first. Ericka and Brian chose the ‘Gold’ detour at first, but after realizing their math skills were not quick or good enough they switched to the ‘Glass’ detour. Gary and Matt chose the ‘Glass’ detour, however Matt seemingly sat out most of the detour claiming he was hot and weak.
Tiffany and Maria and Dan and Sam chose the ‘Gold’ detour and breezed through it quickly as Dan and Sam had purchased a calculator in which Maria used to quickly calculate the gold weight for Sam and Dan, giving them their next clue to ‘Take a Leap of Faith’ at Atlantis Palm Dubai.
Mika and Canaan chose the ‘Glass’ detour and completed it rather quickly, however upon receiving their next clue of ‘Take a Leap of Faith’ Mika was already beginning to show signs of anxiety, as she is afraid of heights and cannot swim.
Flight Time and Big Easy at first chose the ‘Glass’ detour, however after realizing it took Ericka and Brian almost two hours to complete they switched to the ‘Gold’ detour in which they seemingly completed quickly, borrowing a calculator from the shop owner.
At the Atlantis Palm Dubai the ‘Take a Leap of Faith’ consisted of both “Amazing Race” teammates having to slide down a six story waterslide at an almost 90 degree angle, which also took the teams through a tube of sharks. Although Cheyne and Megan admitted to their fears of heights they quickly took the plunge down the slide and received the final clue to the pit-stop on Dolphin Bay Beach at the Atlantis resort.
All of “The Amazing Race” teams went down the slide and made it to the pit-stop with-out much hesitation except for Mika and Canaan. Mika became very upset and could not push herself to take the plunge down the slide, Canaan seemingly ready to push her down as she screamed for help. Flight Time and Big East arrived last to take the plunge and taunted Mika as she had only two minutes (according to “The Amazing Race” rules) to go down the slide. Flight Time and Big Easy quickly took the plunge, with Canaan following them, and Mika took the stairs back down feeling horrible that she could not complete the challenge for Canaan.
Pit-Stop order:
1. Megan and Cheyne, each won a personal watercraft
2. Maria and Tiffany
3. Sam and Dan
4. Brian and Ericka
5. Gary and Matt
6. Flight Time and Big Easy
7. Mika and Canaan

did you even view the clip of big easy talking to mika? how is telling someone don't do it equate to taunting?
oh yes, there was truly one task that I would have a hard time with and that was when it was shaving your hair off. Not that I wouldn't do it (1 mil is 1 mil) just would have a very had time with the task. Other than that you HAVE to be prepared to do anything, or don't go. Alot of contestants have had fear of water, or even been unable to swim, they took lessons before going on the show, remember the girls last season? You might cry and have a hard time, but in the end you do it..for the 1mil, for you, for your partner.
Mika should not have applied for the Amazing Race if she knew she couldn't do anything in water. There is always some sort of water event in every Amazing Race. She took the spot of someone who might have won. It was selfish and foolish.
