The amazing jazz vocals of The New York Voices at the Capitol Theatre

It’s time to get your jazz vocal cords ready and that’s if you can do that without getting a sore throat. Otherwise just get your ears prepared for some great harmony and high octave key range of jazz vocals with The New York Voices. This group of American voices was formed in 1987 with the original members of Darmon Meader, Peter Eldridge, Kim Nazarian, Caprice Fox and Sara Krieger. This group is known for their Grammy Award-winning vocal ensemble and superb output in jazz as well as the art of group singing.

Originally having five vocalists in the group, Sara Krieger retired in 1992. After auditioning over 60 vocalists; Lauren Kinhan became the replacement which was nothing but a perfect addition, a good vocal sound and an easy transition.  The next change in the group was of Caprice Fox, who left the group in 1994. These two changes made the group still an impressive, well formatted quartet and one of the best and only jazz vocal groups of the 1990s. The New York Voices are known to have performed with such great jazz artists as Diana Krall, Ray Brown, Bobby McFerrin, Nancy Wilson and George Benson.
