The Afghan Wigs began performing in the Cincinnati area in 1986 and signed with the Sub Pop Records label in 1990. The band quickly grew in popularity, thanks in part to consistent airplay on college radio stations across the country. Their current album, Do to the Beast debuted at number 32 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, making it their highest charting album of their career. The band is currently touring in select North American cities and will embark on the European leg of their tour on May 20 before returning home to Cincinnati in September for their only local appearance.
