Advantage Multi is an all-in-one flea & heart worm treatment.
Advantage Multi is a very handy, all-in-one topical application used to prevent flea infestations, intestinal worms, and heart worms.
Once a month, simply apply the solution between your dog's shoulder blades. Make sure that you part the hair and put the solution on the skin. If you put the solution on the hair, it can possibly roll down the hair and not be absorbed. If it rolled down the hair, it could also end up in an area where the dog could lick it off, and that is not recommended.
Once applied, if you have more than one pet, keep them separated for about 30-45 minutes after applying the Advantage Multi. Also, be sure to keep any cats away from a treated dog.
Advantage Multi treats fleas and intestinal worms. These worms include hook worms, round worms, and whip worms. Ticks and tape worms are not included. That being sad, one type of tape worm is transmitted through the dog eating infected fleas. With this product killing the fleas that are already on your dog, along with repelling other fleas, you decrease your chances of your dog picking up tapes. Since this product also protects against heart worms, a prescription is needed in order to purchase it. Your vet will want your dog to be up-to-date on its heart worm testing (done annually) before allowing the product to be purchased. This can seem like a big inconvenience, but it has your dog's best health in mind.
