The national tour of the new musical comedy The Addams Family is coming to the Majestic Theatre in May. Tickets to this musical based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by cartoonist Charles Addams went on sale today.
The Addams Family was created by Jersey Boys authors Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. It is based more on the original cartoons than the movie and television characters and tells the story of a ghoulish American family with a flair for the macabre.
In this original story Wednesday Addams is all grown up and has fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family. Her family has yet to meet him so she confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. The big night comes when the family hosts a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
