On May 20th at 7pm, the Academy of Art's Animation and Visual Effects department officially launched its 2011 Spring Show with a two hour screening of the best short films, animation, and visuals effects of the year. Heralded by the presentation of honors and awards, the audience was blown away by an exihibition of works which took weeks, months, and years for teams and individuals to produce. The annual event was hosted by department directors and leads, including Chris Armstrong, Sherrie Sinclair, Tom Bertino, Catherine Tate, Linda Bel, Jason Patnode, and Vince DeQuattro.
The 2011 Spring Show will officially open to the public on May 25th (6:30pm - 9pm) at 1849 Washington Street, in San Francisco. The show will run from May 25th to August 15th, with regular hours from 9am to 6pm following opening night. Goto the Academy of Art website for further details.
