Do you speak Disney? If not, you might want to study up before your next Disney vacation, because there are many different terms used by those who frequent the Walt Disney World Resorts. Many of the Disney terms can be helpful when planning your next vacation. Plus, knowing the different terms and lingo for the Walt Disney World Resorts will have you feeling like a Disney expert.

Here is the next list of Disney terms including letters from E through M:


  • Electric Light Parade: Also referred to as ELP. This fan favorite parade makes an appearance at the Magic Kingdom from time to time.
  • Epcot: One of the four theme parks at Disney World
  • Extra Magic Hours: Also referred to as EMH. These are extra hours in the theme parks set aside just for Disney Resort guests.


  • Fantasmic!: This is the fireworks show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
  • FastPass+: The system Disney has to help guests reduce the amount of time spent in line by being able to reserve a specific time to enjoy a ride or attraction.


  • Guest Assistance Card: Also referred to as GAC. This card is used to identify guests with disabilities so they can get the assistance they need while waiting in line or enjoying an attraction.


  • IllumiNations: The fireworks show at Epcot.


  • Magical Express: Also referred to as Disney’s Magical Express or DME. This is the free airport shuttle offered to all Disney resort guests.
  • Magic Kingdom: Also referred to as MK. One of the four theme parks at Disney World.
  • Meet and Greet: The opportunity where guests can meet face-to-face with Disney characters for photographs and autographs.
  • MGM: Once used to refer to Disney’s Hollywood Studios when it was known as Disney-MGM Studios.
  • MK: Commonly used when referring to the Magic Kingdom park.
  • Monorail: In the air transportation through Disney World taking guests to and from the Magic Kingdom and Epcot to area resorts and the Transportation and Ticket Center.
  • Mountains: Refers to all of the big roller coasters at Disney, including Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain and Expedition Everest.
