The Randolph County Sheriff’s Department answered 440 calls last week according to the Randolph County Emergency Services. These are just the calls that went through the 911-call center. The Asheboro Police Department answered 356 calls during this same week. They had a combined total of 796 calls.

According to the United States Census website, Randolph County covers 782.5 square miles. It had a population in 2010 of 142,358 citizens. The census shows a population base of 181.1 people per square mile.
The City of Asheboro covers 18.5 square miles. It had a population in 2010 of 25,012 citizens. The census shows a population base of 1,349.7 people per square mile.
