The 7th Annual Outlook Awards Dinner and Dance

Outlook Long Island is Long Island’s own publication dedicated to serving the area’s gay populace and on Saturday, February 2nd, 2013, the magazine will be holding its 7th Annual Outlook Awards at the Thatched Cottage in Centerport. The awards dinner is the one time of the year when all of Long Island's LGBT community gets together under one roof to recognize the best of the best in a variety of categories.

The fabulously entertaining Ariel Sinclair returns this year as the event's Mistress of Ceremonies, and she'll be joined by comedian Kit Stewart, last year's Entertainer of the Year. This year's special Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Stephen Flynn of the Long Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and the first ever "Miss Outlook Long Island" contest will take place. Long Island's own gossip, Priscilla Pride, will be hosting the Lavender Carpet.

The five-hour awards dinner gets underway at 7 p.m. and includes a cocktail hour, full-course gourmet dinner, open bar, deejay dancing, and of course the awards. Prizes will be given out in ten categories, including Activist of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, Humanitarian of the Year, Ally of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Entertainer of the Year, Business of the Year, and Best Event, Nightlife, and Organization. Winners are chosen based on ballots cast by the general public, and you can vote for your favorites right here.

The Outlook Awards Dinner is always a fun evening and this year's event promises to be one of the best ever. Tickets for the event are just $75 and $10 from each ticket sold will go to benefit the Cherry Grove Dune Fund. To purchase tickets, check out Outlook Long Island. Stay tuned for the nominees.
