January 21st is not only Martin Luther King Jr. Day, it is also marks the beginning of Inaugural Ceremonies to swear-in Barack Obama, President of the United States.
The year 2013 marks the 57th Presidential Inauguration. This is celebrated with aa huge set of events that are dotted with prayer, the national anthem, the vice presidential oath of office, the presidential oath of office and plenty of music.
The music for this years ceremonies will be aptly delivered by Beyoncé, who will be singing our national anthem, James Taylor, Kelly Clarkson, New York and Lee University Festival Choir, the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and The United States Marine Band.
This years theme is “Faith in America’s Future.”
“Faith in America’s Future” commemorates the United States’ perseverance
and unity and marks the sesquicentennial year of the placement of the
Statue of Freedom atop the new Capitol Dome in 1863. When the Civil War
threatened to bring construction of the Dome to a halt, workers pressed
onward, even without pay, until Congress approved additional funding to
complete the Dome that would become a symbol of unity and democracy to
the entire world.
