For one day in New York City all my friends become “Boricuas” and for the first time in the history of the 53rd annual puertorican parade (or any city parade along 5th avenue) an animal rescue group has been allowed to participate. The honor goes to Inky Blue Sea Animal Rescue Project a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization under the umbrella of Hands For Paws (Manos por Patas) in Florida that have the honor to join.
With their slogan “I LOVE SATOS” they will march with 40 volunteers that include some top celebrity canines like NY Celebrity dog of 2008, Eli and NYC Barking Beauty of 2010, Bandit. Creating awareness in the island’s abandoned and/or neglected dogs.
Yours truly have the honor to lead as their Queen with one of my top Chihuahua model, Cinnabon Bon.
The Animal Medical Center, a NYC community staple and institution is also joining Inky Blue Sea in this historic moment. They recently celebrated PAW DAY at Carl Schurlz Park were their top veterinarians gave FREE consultations on the different specialties. Helping communities is something very familiar to them.
William Cassius D'argento Divney, founder of Inky Blue Sea asks for your support by attending their benefit schedule for June 17th, 2010 at Flannery’s Bar located at 205 West 14th street. Donation at door is only $20.00 that goes directly to their project’s funds.
At the event you can meet Comedian Erik Rivera, Celebrity Magician Matt Wayne, Mexico’s Next Top Model Judge and photographer Jolance, Pet Fashion Designer Roberto Negrin and The World’s Only Play Poker Dog, Jilli.
Bring some cash as they have a silent auction with selective items you can bid such as a private photo session with Jolance, Art by Steve Demassi, Fido Friendly magazine Subscriptions, Bling Bone Jewelry, a restaurant gift card by My Dog Walks, a gift certificate by tazzles, an Annual Exam and Vaccines by Worth Street Veterinary Center, a set of Fur products, stuffed animals by giant microbes and a MICHAEL KORS handbag retail price of $268.
So, if you are home tomorrow set up your television to watch NYC Puerto Rican Parade
And look for all the dogs marching to support our “Satos”, the island mutts.

My Westie dogs (Missy Paulette & Casey Jane) and I are honored to be able to march in the parade to help draw attention to the plight of the poor satos. Not only that, but it is going to be a blast!!! We can't wait.
