The 44th Annual World Series of Poker starts May 29th in Las Vegas

The 44th Annual World Series of Poker starts May 29th at the Rio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. This year’s series features 62 Gold Bracelet events, along with satellite events, and live action games running almost non-stop thru July 15th.

2012 World Champion Greg Merson won $8.5 million by taking down the Main Event. 74,766 players from over 100 nations took seats at the various tournaments, winning 61 Gold Bracelets along with $222 million in prize money.

Event #2 kicks off the Gold Bracelet events this year. Starting on Wednesday, May 29th this No-Limit Hold’em event has a $5000 buy-in, featuring eight players to a table. Starting at 5 p.m. the event will last four days before crowning a winner.

Event #3a will be one of the most intriguing tournaments early in the series. Starting on Thursday, May 30th at 11 a.m. this $1000 No-Limit Hold’em Event has a second chance. Players getting busted out early can enter again at 5 p.m. Thursday and start anew in Event 3b.
