The 4 Day Diet may be the diet plan for you if you like variety and a focus on winning mind games. You will not lose weight in four days but instead the 4 day diet plan is a series of seven phases that last four days. It is expected that you will lose 10-12 pounds over 28 days. Many quit their diets because they get bored with eating the same healthy foods over and over again. The 4 Day Diet gives you tools to help dieters deal with the psychological factors of weight loss. With this diet it is suggested that you start thinking like a thin person and looking beyond the scale to measure success.
Phase 1 of the 4 day diet is the induction module which is designed to remove any toxins you may have accumulated in your body. Dieters may eat fruits, leafy greens, and other non-starchy vegetables, beans, brown rice, and low-fat or nonfat yogurt or milk during this phase. Absolutely no meats, poultry or fish are allowed.
Phase 2 is the transition to the introduction of a new way of eating. The menu consists of many unprocessed foods that are high in fiber so you feel full on fewer calories. During this phase you are eating around 1,300 calories per day.
Phase 3 of the 4 day diet is the protein stretch that adds all of the lean meats, fish, milk and eggs to one’s diet. This will help to avoid the weight loss plateaus some encounter. One of the most frustrating things while trying to lose weight is the ‘plateau-ing’.
Phase 4 of the 4 Day Diet is known as ‘Smooth’. This phase assumes that you have learned some things about what normal portions are and what healthy eating is. This phase allows you to eat what you like in moderation.
Phase 5 is known as ‘Push’ which takes you back to a more restrictive diet as you approach your final stretch to your goal. There are four daily menus outlined with what you can eat.
Phase 6 is known as ‘Pace’ which allows you to eat a few more foods.
The final phase is known as ‘Vigorous’ which is a strict plan to help you lose those last few pounds you need to shed.
