Over 200 people packed the Ball Room at the Oxford Hotel in Denver on October 5 to celebrate some of the best fashion designers of the Rocky Mountain region. Guests were treated to over 2 hours of fun, innovative presentations from several points of view. From avant garde looks to collections that could be taken from the runway to the street, there was something for everyone.
Presented by the JTA Group, the 3rd Annual Colorado Fashion Week helped further its path to establish Denver as a premiere fashion city in the Rocky Mountain area. Showcased designers featured Robbi Sayuri - a Denver resident and graduate of the Art Institute of Denver, INDI Apparel - a Tucson based designer, and Nicholas Anthony Designs - a designer from Casper, Wyoming, among others. Students from the Rocky Mountain Hair and Makeup Academy also participated in the event.
Along with the emerging designers listed above, presentations were also given by Kimono Dragons, Mai Couture, Apricot Lane Boutique and Regal Rowe. What started as a lofty idea turned into an exciting night of fashion complete with theatrical touches and artistry. Notable trends that were present throughout the show included iridescent fabrics and bold patterns. Each designer featured these elements in a unique and creative way, but they were all over the runway. While some designers chose to go with less theatrical makeup and hair, others chose the full on high fashion presence.
Later this month, looks from the designers featured in the show will be available for purchase in an online boutique. They will also be presented at a holiday market in November.
