The 37 Bloody Mary

The Bloody Mary is an absolutely individual drink.  It is hard to meet two people who make theirs the same way.  However, everyone should take pride in their own recipe, and this is a pretty good one.

Plus, it has a few perks:  First, this Bloody Mary uses V8 Spicy Hot, which is typically a few dollars cheaper than the better mixers available at the liquor store.  Second, when compared with some popular mixer brands, using V8 saves an average of 50 calories per drink.  This particular mix has less than 300 calories!  So don't feel (as) guilty when you have a second one.

Drink Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Vodka (Recommended:  Skyy)

  • 5 oz V8 Spicy Hot

  • 1 oz fresh squeezed lime juice

  • 8 dashes Sriracha hot sauce

  • 2 dashes Lea & Perrin's Worcestsire sauce

  • 1 dash Angostura bitters

  • 1 shake celery salt

  • 1 shake black pepper

Garnish:

  • Lime wedge

  • Celery salt and black pepper

  • Green olives (Queen, pitted, pimiento stuffed, etc.)

Moisten the rim of a rocks glass with lime wedge and then crust with the celery salt and black pepper.  Fill with ice; add drink ingredients.  Stir or shake as desired.  Garnish with lime and olive.  Cheers!
