The Vine and Wine Society is an important support organization for New Mexico winemakers and grape growers. Both amateur and professional members of the local wine industry rely on the many events and seminars the society offers. Click here for a complete listing of the conference’s scheduled events and classes.
The conference is hosted by the New Mexico Wine Growers Association, which has an excellent website and provides information on everything going on in the state’s wine industry. The NMWGA provides wine maps, the popular wine passport program, puts on festivals, and provides detailed information on all the wineries in New Mexico.
The Thursday event is all about wine judging, and features Claude Robbins from the International Wine Guild. Mr. Robbins is a pre-eminent wine expert and a founder of the International Wine Guild, which is rated as one of the top wine schools in the country. This seminar is $60 if pre-registered or $75 at the door.
The Vine and Wine Society also sponsors the State Fair Wine Competition and provides the wine judges for this event among their members. Many of whom will doubtless be attending Claude Robbins’ class.
All the events are held at Hotel Albuquerque at Old town, 800 Rio Grande Blvd. NW, in Albuquerque.
