I told you last year that the Michael Jackson Birthday Party was just too popular of an event to be an one time only event. Looks like I was right. On Sunday, August 29, 2010 in Prospect Park's Nethermead Field there will be a Michael Jackson Birthday party from Noon-6pm. Their is no admission!! Its FREE!!!
This year's party will be DJ'ed once again by DJ Spinna and hosted by the same man who directed Michael Jackson's Birthday video, "I'm bad," Spike Lee. (It was recorded at Hoyt-Schemerhorn Station)
Last year it rained just before the party. This year, the remix will be better because it'll be pure sunshine. Expect people in the thousands to show up looking to live life, "Like it's Off the Wall." No need to fear on the overcrowding tip though because it is Prospect Park and they'll have the room to accommodate the masses. The music will be slamming too as the DJ is first rate. Read about DJ Spinna's Stevie Wonder Birthday bashes here, and about last year's MJ Birthday party here.
The Nethermead Field is the main field in the park. You can access it from the F train at 15th St/Prospect Park, or 2/3 Train to Grand Army Plaza. For those familiar with Brooklyn's largest park just follow the signs once you get close.
Its not going to get better than hearing a top rated DJ spin the Gloved One's music in the summer sun. People of all ages , colors , backgrounds will be united in Mike's music. After wards spring through nearby Park Slope for an assortment of great lounges and bars. I highly recommend The Gate on 5th Ave. and 3rd st in Park Slope for a great outdoor scene and some drinks.
Do have to remind everyone since we are nearing Labor Day cops will be out in force. Don't drink and drive or in some of your cases drink and bike. Lets have a good time with getting totally hammered. (Hard to do at a MJ party in the park but some damn fool is liable to try.) Enjoy yourselves responsibly. So, "Let's dance, let's shout, shake our bodies down to the ground."

Spike Lee Directed "They Dont Care About Us". Scorsese did bad.
Great honor to celebrate Michaels's bithday here in New York. I really hope that one day his REAL story makes it to the big screen so that generations get to know the real Michael, what HE endored, what HE lived for, the things that ARE really important to him, he wasn't only about great music. Love you and God bless you Michael where ever you are.
Lol that's what I was gonna say...
I was pretty sure he directed They Don't Care About Us :P
Get your facts right. Years of misinformation about MJ has created character assassination, misleading the public.
