Korean automaker Kia certainly caught the eye of many consumers after publishing two computer-generated images of their upcoming latest and greatest 2016 Sorento. Launched in 2002, the Sorento was once classified as one of the larger seven passenger SUVs. Now fast-forward to its latest design, the crossover reportedly will still maintain the roominess factor that is a draw especially for larger families. Not only will the Kia Sorento reportedly have an accommodating interior but its unique and sexy styling could very well floor quite a few potential buyers.
The teaser images depict a sleek and futuristic-looking Sorento that will feature a more bulging oval grille, longer wheelbase, low roofline, sculpted flanks, redesigned headlights, modern belt line, horizontal taillights, roof mounted spoiler, just an overall enhanced muscular stance, as well as a hands-down bolder exterior design. The now unibody structured SUV has also increased in size, so it gets to hold on to its rep, as a credible contender in the universe of four-wheeled people-haulers.
Expected to go wheel-to-wheel with other third-row rivals like the Honda Pilot, Ford Edge and Chevy Traverse, info about the Sorento's innards is being guarded until the vehicle's wrap comes off. There is talk however that the crossover could come with a 2.0-liter direct-injected turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 3.3-liter V6 and be offered in a front and all-wheel drive.
Meanwhile, the 2015 Sorento is reportedly expected to debut in Korea towards the end of August, and then hit their showrooms shortly thereafter. Folks on these shores will fully peep the Sorento for the first time at the Los Angeles Auto Show, which is scheduled for late November around the Thanksgiving holiday.
