The 2015 performance-packing Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 gets kicked up a notch with more under-the-hood oomph, active noise cancellation and a beefed up options package. But wait, Jeep has also introed a new Red Vapor Special Edition that comes in three colors, along with quite an impressive array of distinct touches throughout.

The SUV 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 now growls with 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque both bumped up by 5 each from the previous 2014 model. The SRT8's engine tweaks are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that enables the SUV to go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 160 mph. The active noise- cancelling feature uses the vehicle's audio system and four microphones mounted in the vehicle's headliner to counteract or cancel out, any intrusive drones, so that the SUV remains pin-drop quiet while cruising.

The automaker’s hot Red Vapor Special Edition comes all gussied up with riveting 20-inch alloy wheels in a black chrome finish, glossy black grille accents, red and black artsy chrome interior touches, an illuminated SRT steering wheel logo and a custom dark red engine cover. The vehicle is offered in three eye-popping colors--Redline Red Pearl Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat and Bright White Clear Coat.

All Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8's come with a towing capacity of 7,200 pounds, Brembo brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, upgraded leather upholstery, carbon-fiber interior trim and LED running lights. Just FYI…in addition to the Summit and SRT, the Grand Cherokee comes in Laredo and Laredo E, Limited and Overland models with rear-wheel drive being standard.
