The 17th annual Sun Valley Wellness Festival took place over Memorial Day weekend and it was one of the most successful festivals in their history. The festival was full of classes, workshops, movement classes, vendors and hands on work. A few of the topics of classes at this year’s festival included weight loss, the food that we consume, pesticides, motivation, meditation, money, un-cluttering the mind, and many more.
This year, Diana Nyad, 60, was the keynote speaker at the Sun Valley Wellness Festival and she spoke openly about her infamous swim that she took last year from Cuba to Key West. She spoke about how she planned her trip and her determination to do it.
There were numerous guest speakers who conducted classes and workshops at the 2014 Sun Valley Wellness Festival. Panache Desai is an inspirational and motivational speaker who conducted two classes that were packed with participants. His sense of humor and gift of being a great story teller won the audience over immediately. He recently wrote a book after being told by Oprah that he needed to. “Trust me” she said to him in an interview that aired on the OWN network. He said that he took it as a sign. Panache wrote “Discovering Your Soul Signature.”
Betsy Chasse was another great speaker at this year’s festival. She co-wrote “What the Bleep Do We Know?” an infamous movie about spirituality. Her latest book, “Tipping Your Scared Cows” is an interesting and funny story about how she has gained and lost so much during her short life. She has kept her incredible sense of humor as she told her life story.
This year, the hands on room included over 20 separate booths that various types of health practitioners participated in. Many brought massage tables, or set up beds in their booths. Some practiced Thai massage, reflexology, massage, gave Henna tattoos, or were psychics. A few were booked solid with appointments for the entire four days of the festival.
Many vendors came from around the country and around the world to sell their products and books. And attendees of the festival would visit the vendor booths in between sessions. See the video above for more information.
