The Revere Beach Partnership is proud to announce the dates and theme for the 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival hosted at America’s oldest public beach, Revere Beach, established in 1896.

Attracting an average of 300,000 attendees annually, the 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival will begin on Friday, July 18 and commence on Sunday, July 20. This year’s festival will feature fifteen world-renowned master sand sculptures from all corners of the globe who will put their skills to the test as they compete for first prize in the Master Sand Sculpting Competition.

“Every year, the Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival provides us with the opportunity to showcase our beach and our community to spectators near and far, while we continue to spread the word of the ongoing revitalization of Revere Beach” said John Hamel, Revere Beach Partnership’s Board of Directors President. “With all of the recent building and development along the beach, and partnerships from local businesses and organizations shoring up at a record pace, we’re planning to shatter previous attendance records at our biggest and best festival in the last eleven years.”

The 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival, widely considered as the Bay State’s most anticipated marquee summer event, features a multitude of family friendly offerings. In addition to the Master Sand Sculpting Competition, the three-day festival also includes live entertainment, gourmet food trucks, a community village, fireworks, interactive learning zones, exhibit booths and children’s sand sculpting lessons.

“The Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival is one of the marquee events of the summer in Revere and the region,” said Revere Mayor Daniel Rizzo. “I am so excited about the Stars and Stripes theme this year and look forward to honoring the men and women in our armed services.”

With an abundance of active and retired U.S. military members calling this area home, the Revere Beach Partnership board of directors decided to commemorate this year with a “Stars and Stripes” theme. The festival will honor the men and women who have served, and are still serving, in various United States armed forces and pay tribute to the number of military veteran organizations in the region.

A total of fifteen master sand sculptors will enter this year’s competition including Helena Bangert (Netherlands), Dan Belcher (Missouri), Jonathan Bouchard (Canada), Rusty Croft (California), Dan Doubleday, Chris Guinto (Key West), Sue McGrew (Washington), Benjamin Probanza (Mexico), Pavel Milinkov (Russia), Walter McDonald (Texas), Guy-Olivier Deveau (Canada), JooHeng Tan (Singapore), Hanneke Supply (Netherlands) Marianne van den Broek (Key West) and Abram Waterman (Prince Edward Island). Croft, McGrew and Guinto have all been featured on Travel Channel’s Sand Masters and Bouchard looks to repeat his first place finish in the previous three Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festivals.

Hours for the 2014 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 run from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20.
