The more upscale sister of the Toyota 4Runner, the 2014 Lexus GX 460 is trying to nudge her siblings aside to try and grab some attention for herself! The poor middle child of the Lexus SUV lineup somehow has had the spotlight taken off her and placed on her sisters, the RX and LX. Now, there are some welcomed changes going on with the midsized SUV that should put the vehicle front and center like a huge price drop and a facelift.
The GX 460 not only has a slew of great features but will turn heads with its appealing styling. In addition to its familial aggressive-looking spindle grill, the GX 460 also receives redesigned taillights, prominent LED headlamps and a more chiseled hood. Inside the standard vehicle, potential buyers will find a new eight-inch touch screen display audio, with added complimentary HD Radio Real-Time Traffic and Weather, HD radio capability, a back-up assist camera, and full Bluetooth connectivity. Step it up a notch to the GX 460's luxury trim and you'll receive an adaptable air suspension, auto park assist, three-zone climate control, heated rear seats and blind-spot monitoring. A new linear espresso wood/abyss black trim is also available, and mahogany wood trim is included on both the Premium Package and Luxury models.
There are however, no added or improved mechanical upgrades to the seven-passenger, GX 460's 4.6-liter V-8 which kicks out 301 horsepower. No fuel improvements either to its 15 city/20 hwy EPA estimates.
The new and improved 2014 GX 460 does have an incentive that many will find enticing which is a price cut of $4,710 over the previous generation.
Pricing for the 2014 GX 460 which hits dealer showrooms in September is now $49,085 which should make you look.
