Model trains are fun for the whole family, but can be especially exciting for kids. The Great Train Expo, coming to the St. Charles Convention Center in February, is the perfect place to see all kinds of model trains, learn about collecting and building model trains, find railroad clubs, participate in train workshops, buy or sell trains, enjoy train-themed activities, pick up train-themed gifts and souvenirs, and maybe even begin a lifelong interest in model railroads.
With up to 500 tables featuring model trains of all sizes, children will be fascinated with the various layouts, miniature cities, and mechanics of the railroads. The Great Train Expo can help you get ideas for your own railroads or just serve as a fun, creative activity as kids imagine all the places those little trains might be going. In addition, the event features a play area, games, music and other activities for kids to hold their interest all day long and best of all, children under age 12 get in for free!
