The list of performers that will be taking the stage during the 2014 “CMT Music Awards” has gotten even bigger. Taste of Country reported on May 28, 2014 that the 2014 “CMT Music Awards” hosted by Kristin Bell will feature more live performances this time around when the show takes place live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on CMT.
Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Hunter Hayes, Jake Owen, Brantley Gilbert, Dierks Bentley, Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack, Jennifer Nettles and Little Big Town have been announced in the third round of artists that will be performing. They will be joining the previously announced lineup that already had fans lining up for the big night.
Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert, Brett Eldredge, Tyler Farr, David Nail, Danielle Bradbery, Dan + Shay, Cole Swindell and Thomas Rhett have already been included on the list of artists set to perform during the award show.
Lambert is the leading nominee for the 2014 “CMT Music Awards” hearing her name announced in six categories. Lambert is set to join Underwood once again on stage to perform "Something Bad" together from Lambert’s new album titled “Platinum” that is set to be released on June 3, 2014.
Lambert and Underwood will also be competing against each other in the “Video of the Year” category. Underwood is in the running for “See You Again” and Lambert earned a few nods of her own in the “Video of the Year” category for her hit “Automatic” and for her duet with Keith Urban on “We Were Us.”
Luke Bryan will also be competing against himself for “That’s My Kind of Night” and “This Is How We Roll” with Florida Georgia Line. Hunter Hayes earned his nomination for “I Want Crazy,” Kacey Musgraves for “Follow Your Arrow” and Eric Church earned his nomination for “Give Me Back My Hometown.”
Lambert pops up again on her husband Blake Shelton’s hit “Boys ‘Round Here” featuring Pistol Annies and Friends. Taylor Swift shows up twice in the “Video of the Year” category for “Red” and “Highway Don’t Care” with Tim McGraw and Keith Urban and Thomas Rhett received his nomination for “It Goes Like This.” The finalists for the “Video of the Year” category will be announced on June 4, 2014.
Florida Georgia Line and Bryan each received five nominations while Swift and Urban both have four nominations for the night. Shelton and Hunter Hayes heard their names called as nominees in three categories and Underwood and Church both received two nominations.
