The romantic comedy “Baggage Claim” has been given the honor of opening the 17th annual Urbanworld Film Festival next month. Variety reported on Wednesday, Aug. 21 that the David E. Talbert film starring Paula Patton, Taye Diggs, Jill Scott, Derek Luke and Boris Kodjoe is among several movies slated to play at the festival which starts on Sept. 18 in New York.
The screening of “Baggage Claim” at Urbanworld comes just days before its nationwide theatrical release on Sept. 27. In the film Patton plays a flight attendant who is on a 30-day trek to find love. Other highlights of the festival that movie fans can look forward to is Charles Murray’s “Things Never Said” and the premiere of the original BET movie “Gun Hill” starring Larenz Tate, Emayatzy Corienaldi and Aisha Hinds.
