The Made In America festival is one of the few music festivals that incorporate a lot of different genre’s of music successfully. Made in Philadelphia, MIA takes the best music talents and puts them all in different stages at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. From Sept 1st to the Sept 2nd, Philly became music, Budweiser made it happen and Jay-Z made it valuable.
Day 1 was a full of energy, people so excited to be there and enjoy in the festivities. Budweiser beer, red and blue cups filled with *#*$*$ and music from all angles. It’s like a modern day Wood Stock, with new age hippies, the fashions, the people, and the energy is so different but necessary. It’s the people that make this festival what it is and what it will be in the future. I walk around capturing the day through my Samsung Galaxy lens, this lens saw things from a sharp shooters range, no need for me to be front row. Some of the day 1 highlights are A$AP Rocky, Public Enemy, 2 Chainz, Emeli Sande, Phoenix, and Beyoncé. Normally certain artist get love but honestly every artist that performed turned it up. Crowds for most artists were full of life and gave the artist life. From Public Enemy to A$AP Rocky to 2 Chainz the energy was insane. From my observation 2 Chainz, Public Enemy and Beyoncé tore the house down.
Day 2, from what I hear was amazing as well, even rumors of Jay-Z performing was almost a reality but it was for not. Unfortunately I was not there for day 2 but my guys over at Stashed were, check them here. If you missed last year’s MIA click here. See some of the highlights of day 1 here.
