DynamicsInc (offering a Computerized Credit Card):
Picture, you having a couple of Visa cards with a bank, along with a checking and savings account, with that same bank. But, instead of three or four separate cards, you will only need one. And you can withdraw cash, or charge and make purchases to any of those four accounts, merely by pressing a button on the card. And as I held one in my hands, it is the same weight and density of any single bank card we use today. Furthermore, Dynamics Inc, producers of these ePlate cards, can also issue you a Visa card. Of course, there are some limitations, such as, you cannot have accounts sourced from multiple banks, on the same card. (www.dynamicsinc.com)
From a business perspective, it is likely a very good case study of being visionary in reducing the number of bank related cards a lot of folks carry around; an important window view of what it takes to get a business funded; and the persistency needed to address the legal regulatory and banking processes required, for getting approval.
Mobileye:
The bells of whistles of driving alerts, i.e. if following a car too closely; if veering outside your driving lane; if above the speed limit; along with some other ideal capabilities. And appropriately, their booth had this simulation setup. And let me tell you, it’s one thing to read about it, talk about it, and watch the video; it was quite another to sit in the simulation seat, to experience the use of it. (www.mobileye.com)
From a business perspective, our discussion touched upon what things they have learned from the end users who have purchased this product; and, the steps taken to ensure proper installation.
Fingerprint:
No one will argue the importance of children in society, and the need for parental guidance of what they are exposed to. This particular entity provides ‘apps’ for kids, marketed as ones a parent will be approving of. Even more so, they reflect the advances in technology, allowing kids, while in different locations, regardless of where, to play each other or together, in real-time, online. I had the opportunity to try my hand at one of these apps, during the interview. (www.fingerprintplay.com)
From a business perspective, you might fairly conclude the ‘app world’ is on the move. Accordingly though, there’s a discussion taking place which is looking closely at the current business model, considering the growth of internet users and consumer expectations.
