The 2013 "Girls Can Do Anything!" Family and Friends 2 Mile Run/Walk will be held at Dravo Plaza near the Big Crane of the Riverfront in Wilmington on March 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Registration opens on January 23, 2013.

The 2013 "Girls Can Do Anything!" Conference this year on March 23rd from 8 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. creates a powerful forum through which to redefine womanhood and what it means to be a girl! March 23rd will be a full house at Del Tech with over 250 girls to educate, empower and uplift with the knowledge that they truly can do anything. This second annual conference will continue One Village Alliance (OVA)’s year round initiative to connect girls to mentors, resources and opportunities that support healthy lifestyles. The focus will be healthy gender identity and behaviors, positive decision making and leadership amongst young and adolescent girls (ages 9-17). Our mission is to propel girls on an inspiring journey toward overall excellence!

We will feature breakout sessions, discussions and even parent workshops for mothers and fathers raising girls. Participants will connect with a dynamic host of mentors and role models from preteens to elders from their own community and experiences. Their struggles and successes will inspire girls to dream big, tap into their passion and realize their aspirations. GCDA fosters positive life long relationships and a spirit of sisterhood among young women and girls. The list of special guests include business moguls, surgeons, judges, law enforcement officers, mechanics, engineers, music producers, community leaders and other phenomenal females whose lives prove that, with the right support, "Girls Can Do Anything!"

Our girls need us! We invite you to join this extraordinary effort to change lives. This is not just an event but an ongoing commitment to address the needs of at risk girls, share solutions and honor successful young leaders making a positive impact in their communities.
