The 2010 Houston Press Award Polls are Open: Vote Potbelly

The polls are now open for voting so why not vote for Houston's best Reggae/Dub band Potbelly. This amazing three man band consists of Erik Smith, Erin Massey and Marc M.C. Their original music can be heard up and down the streets of Washington Avenue at such bars and clubs as The Lot, Salt and The Drinkery. They also frequent many Cypress Bars such as The Crooked ferret, The Texas Tavern and Maisones. It is very refreshing to hear original tunes from such a diverse group of young men. Today music can become so generic and cookie cutter, but Potbelly really brings us polished and original sounds to all their gigs and concerts.

This year they are pleased to be nominated for their first Houston Press Music Award, and they would be even more pleased if you voted for them. The voting process is easy and it takes no time at all. Just take a few minutes to pry yourself off of Facebook or Twitter to give a nod to these great artists. Now there are a few ways to vote you can text hou114 to 61721 to cast the vote or follow the link to the Houston Press Awards.

The Houston Press Awards will be going off Saturday August 7, 2010. Come out and enjoy the many sounds of other Press Hopefuls that night. If you have never voted before now is your year to cast the ballot for your favorite band and musical artist. Just do not forget to add Potbelly on that check list. See ya at the awards!
