2010 Carolina Music Awards
The nominees for the 2010 Carolina Music Awards are in and now it’s your chance to vote for your favorite country music artists. The Carolina Music Awards is in its third year. Founded in 2008, The Carolina Music Awards focuses attention on emerging artists in the Carolinas in categories that include Country Male, Country female and Country Band among others.
While the awards focus attention on local Carolina artists, nominees for The Carolina Music Awards can be from every area of the country, but usually have a presence in the south east. The Carolina Music Awards has a goal of developing the music industry in the Carolinas and encouraging growth in local music now and in the future.
2008/2009 Country Male Artist of the Year David Cooler
Past winners in the country categories have included David Cooler, a Bamberg, SC native who won Male Country Artist of the Year for both 2008 and 2009. In the Female Country Artist of the Year Category, North Carolina natives Charlotte Overman and Cameron Marion have taken the honors. In 2008, the Highpoint, NC band Old Southern Moonshine Revival took the honors in Country Group of the Year, but South Carolina fought back in 2009 when the Laurens, South Carolina band Outshyne took home the award.
