Today, Sep. 14, 2013, the 18th Annual International Golf Tournament begins at Robert A. Black Golf Course. This Chicago Park District golf course will host this event Sep. 14-Sep. 15. (Robert A. Black Golf Course is at 2045 W. Pratt Boulevard in Chicago, Ill.)
Modified Stableford will be the scoring method for two round event. Participants must pay the green fee ($20/per player) for each round. Park officials will accept payments with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. (If you are reading this article and intend to enter this event, the registration deadline has passed.)
Robert A. Black Golf Course is a nine holes course. Therefore, each, official, tournament round will consist of two, nine holes rounds. This golf course has one, par five hole; four, par four holes; and four, par three holes. The first hole is the par five hole—481 yards. The shortest hole is the eighth hole—103 yards. (These are average yardages to the putting greens from the Blue teeing grounds; all contestants will play from these teeing grounds.)
The nine holes course rating/slope for men playing from the Blue teeing grounds is 31.7/100. For women it is 33.0/103. The nine holes course rating for men playing from the Red teeing grounds is 30.7/96. For women it is 31.8/98.
Robert A. Black Golf Course has a large section of Warren Park. West Pratt Boulevard is its northern boundary. Approximately 100 feet east of its, small parking lot is North Ridge Boulevard, which is its eastern boundary. Approximately mile west of its ninth hole is North Western Avenue; this is its western boundary. West Arthur Avenue is its southern boundary. The 18th Annual International is the last, official, Chicago Park District golf tournament for 2013.
