As the penultimate, par four hole, the 16th hole has an average distance from the rear, Gold teeing ground to the putting green of 394 yards. The average distance from the Blue teeing ground is 358 yards. Three hundred twenty-six yards is the average distance from the White teeing ground. From the front, Red teeing ground, the average distance is 286 yards. This hole has a #4, course hole handicap. (George Dunne National Golf Course is at 16310 S. Central Avenue in Oak Forest, Ill.)
Around the 16th hole’s teeing grounds, there are many feet separating the grounds from the trees on both sides. These trees are medium heights. They have close spacing.
This fairway points southeast. It is straight. On the left, it has an outward bulge at approximately 150 yards from the putting green. This fairway lacks any water hazards, but there are two, contiguous sand bunkers that begin at approximately 150 yards from the rear, Gold teeing ground. These bunkers are medium size.
Near the putting green, there are three, medium size sand bunkers. The first bunker is on the putting green’s, left side, approximately 25 yards away. Another bunker is on the putting green’s, left side, but this bunker is parallel with the putting green’s rear and middle. The remaining sand bunker is on the green’s, right side. Its rear is also parallel with the putting green, but its front goes farther forward than the parallel bunker on the left side.
I did not make notes for this hole’s putting green. However, taking into account the #4, course hole handicap rating, golfers should expect steep slopes and difficult breaks. It may be more common for golfers to putt thrice instead of twice.
