Chick Evans Golf Course’s, 13th hole can be lucky if golfers’ drive their golf balls all the way to the putting green. This hole can be lucky if your golf ball heads into the trees on the right, but a sudden wind blows them back straight. (Chick Evans Golf Course is at 6145 N. Golf Road in Morton Grove, Ill.)
This hole is par four. The average distance to the putting green from the rear, Blue teeing ground is 304 yards. Two hundred ninety-two yards is the average distance from the middle, White teeing ground. Two hundred seventy-two yards is the average distance from the front, Red teeing ground. This hole has a #11, course hole handicap.
From the teeing grounds to the putting green, this hole’s fairway is consistently downhill. (This hole points due east.) If golfers get a 20-30 mph tailwind, it is possible to fly their drives onto the putting green.
Moderately tall, closely-spaced trees are on the fairway’s, right side. Golf balls that have low trajectories will usually not benefit from gusts blowing north. However, golf balls with high trajectories that go higher than the treetops can benefit from north-blowing winds to the extent that balls land onto the fairway’s middle, and roll more than 10 yards.
This hole lacks sand bunkers and water hazards. (Overly curious deer occasionally cross this fairway; therefor, golfers should be cautious when walking or riding along the shaded cart path that goes from this hole’s putting green to the 14th hole’s teeing grounds. Nesting Canada Geese are sometimes squawking hazards.)
The putting green lacks any sand bunkers. It is moderate size and slopes downward from the rear to the front. This green has an oval shape.
